Let's be boring

So Susan's starting her Hotel Hope stint, and you know how she hates missing out on all the fun she just knows we're going to have without her.

I propose that each of us commit to 30 days of really boring activities. The kind of pursuits Susan would be happy to skip. It's the least we can do to show our support.

Here's what I plan to do during her stay at CoH:

1. Alphabetize my spices.
2. Organize my sock drawer.

3. Clean the grout in bathroom with an old toothbrush.

4. Memorize all the state capitals.

5. Color my gray roots.

In your comments, please share the really tedious and/or boring activities you have planned for Smooky's hospital stay.

Remember, keep any really exciting news to yourself.
We just don't want to know.

(1) sort, file and organize my cooking magazines (2) begin preparing my business files for end-of-year tax ordeal (3) purge my computer's documents folder (4) organize the collection of "stuff" under the kitchen sink (5) clean out the scary green jelly cabinet in my office (6) and finally, thanks to Paula, purge my spice cabinet

Ya' know what - with all the time I've had "off" for the last few months, you'd think that I would have cleaned out every drawer, closet and cubby in the house. But the truth is that stuff is boring whether you have the time to do it or not.

Funny you should mention this boring stuff, because I've actually been thinking that I really need to update my car maintenance log. I'm probably overdue for an oil change.

My life is so exciting that I fixed the grout in my shower last weekend. Don't bother with the toothbrush. Use a Clorox bleach pen. It's much easier.

Susan, I'll be doing a lot of what I'm doing right now which is.........
eating candy corn!!! If that appetizing thought doesn't make hospital food more interesting,I don't know what will!!

Let's see, I think I can come up with tons of boring things, but I'll limit myself for the sake of others:

1. file spelling and grammar papers for my kids' homework
2. find missing library books in the piles
3. learn how to use my new copier
4.go through the junk mail and "I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-it" mail pile that always stacks up
5. organize my desk (ps-shaw)

whoo hoo!!
