Are you a mutt (ala Obama) or a minority?
Do you own a four-legged mutt?
Do you live in Southern California?
Join me and other mutts on Sunday, January 18, at the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade, the hip alternative to the city's annual Rose Parade. Our theme is "Mutts for Marrow." We'll raise awareness of the need for minority bone marrow donors as we walk the six-block parade route with our mutts. We'll also be throwing out Milk Bones, Live Savers and information about becoming a donor.
Krissy Kobata, a young hapa in search of her bone marrow match, will be joining us. She's pretty enough to be a Rose Queen and quirky enough to be a Doo Dah Queen.
If you or your dog would like to join the march, please let me know by Monday, January 12. (susancarrier@sbcglobal.net). There's a modest $10/person charge for participating in the parade. Dogs walk free. And, of course, there's no charge to come and watch and cheer us on.

I'll be right up front (on the sidelines, actually), at the official reviewing stand. Look forwrad to seeing you and the mutts!
We'll be sure to wave (and shake) at our favorite PIO!
Sounds like good fun for a good cause!
I love that you're doing this. You'll both be pretty in pink.
oh, good gawd..nooooo, poor Betty! She deserves at least some sunglasses if she's going to have to go out in public, on parade, looking like THAT again! ;-)
Fantastico
I'll cheer you on wildly and take thousands of photos. Boz is a mutt as you know, but as much as he loves attention, I don't think he'd take kindly to THAT MUCH attention. I'll try to catch a milk bone for him.
YOU GO.
Are you considering the red boa as part of your garb?
red boa---it would go with those boots in the pic!
Okay Susan, I'll give the parade a try. I hope it's not more than a 2 mile walk. My knee joints are still a problem. Also, I'm not suppose to be in the sun, so I'll use SPF 1000 and wear a hat... We'll talk more about it tomorrow at lunch! Can't wait to see you. love, nancy
Petrea, We'll make sure that Boz leaves with plenty of Milk Bones.
Trish and Robert, I don't know about the boas. Maybe we'll dress Krissy Kobata as a princess and let her wear the tiara and boa.
Nancy, Yea! I'm so excited that you're going to join us.
Great to meet you Susan C. We had a great time watching the parade and I am confident that we will raise awareness and find matches for those in need! Caryn.
