The Hottest Ticket in Town

Tomorrow I'll be spending the day at The Women's Conference in Long Beach, the mega event hosted by First Lady Maria Shriver. The lineup of more than 100 speakers, from Madeline Albright to Bono, is amazing. No wonder the 14,000 person event sold out in just three hours. Lucky for me, the regional YWCA bought a block of tickets for its board members.

On Thursday I'll be taking off for a week for a visit to West Virginia and Ohio. I'll get to enjoy the fall foilage and crisp weather while I visit my brother and Bonnie, my nephew and dad. And I'll be stirring up some home-made apple butter with the Allen clan on their 200+ acre compound in Sardis, West Virginia.

I was just in Ohio! We did an 1,100 mile road trip with the kids. We went to a wedding, saw friends from college and then went by and showed the kids the house I lived in my first 18 years of life. Too bad our trips didn't coincide! We also went to the original Bob Evans farm. Have a great trip!!

Susan! If I know you as well as I think I do, then you're checking this via mobile services. Is there any way I can meet you in WVA while you're there? I'd love to drive up and see you. Write back here or at my gmail account and let me know. One of these times you come back East, I'd LOVE for you to stop by and visit me. We could take a trip to DC, or just hang out around Fredericksburg.

love, Tara in VA
